He Did It!

After FOUR long nights of Bruin crying it out, our little man is finally sleeping through the night and we are getting sleep again! Wooohoo! We started last Wednesday by reducing the amount he was getting at each night feeding until there was none. That took two nights. Then it took him two more nights of waking up and crying every half hour or so from 1:30am until 5am when I'd feed him. Finally, Sunday he slept all the way from 8:00pm to 4:30am, and he's been doing it every night since! I think its safe to say he's learned how to sleep now and we are thrilled!

Now I just put him down around 7:30pm and then feed him before I go to bed around 10 (he doesn't even open his eyes, just drinks!) Then I get up and feed him around 4:30 or 5 and then he sleeps until around 7am! Thank you SO much for everyone who gave me advice on the matter. I took it ALL into consideration and even went to the library and checked out some of the books recommended! Thanks especially to Jande who put up with ALL of my questions, you were a lot of help!
I was a little nervous about trying to do it too early but when he got weighed last week he was over 12 lbs and in the 84th percentile so I figured it was okay! Six pounds in two months, that little chunker! Maybe I'm making cream I don't know!

Anyways, sleep is now entering back into my life and now I feel like I can start exercising and working off the extra baby weight! I've got about 12 pounds to lose to be back to my old weight so wish me luck!

Here is Phil in between sessions of General Conference

After this picture was taken I looked down and noticed some blood on the burp rag he was leaning on... The little guy had cut himself with his fingernails inside his mouth and was still sucking his fists like no big deal. I was so sad for him! Its soo hard to cut those nails short enough but I really try.

Just some more random pics of our little man for the grandparents

Hi Holly. This is Kacie, April's friend. Please explain more of how you got Bruin to sleep. Cade has some long stretches at night but they are never consistant so it's hard to figure out when I should go to bed. Also, does Bruin have pretty consistant times for naps during the day? Thanks for your help.

Yeah!!!! I'm so happy for you guys! I bet those were 4 long nights but it was worth it huh? Max isn't sleeping through the night yet. Josh won't let me just let him cry. I think he will be in kindergarten and not sleeping through the night! :) Bruin is getting so big! I hope I can see you guys when you come up.
Oh and Phil, Josh always has an inch! :)
Enjoy your sleep!!!

Okay, I realize I have 3 kids but I could take some good advice from you if you want to give it to me :) What books did you get? Did you just let him cry or did you give him a pacifier? I'm a little nervous having him just cry it out because I don't want to wake the other boys but if thats what I have to do then I think I might be willing to try.

I wish Bakersfield would have worked, but they didn't offer an internship, just a job. Stupid company...Oh well. Bruin is so cute! Good job on the sleeping thing. Zack is sleeping too, but I still get up to pump which explains why I'm up at 4. Blah. I'm going to bed...

Your little guy is so cute! I'm excited for when mine gets to be a little bigger and I don't feel like he's so fragile and limp!
