This weekend Phil and I went to Seattle to hang out with my older sister April, her husband Devin and my cute chunker nephew Gavin. We had great weather while we were there and we caught a Mariners game and went to Pike's Market! Phil left Sunday to go back to work and I hung out a few days more. Thanks April and Devin for a fun weekend!

My sister April and I at Pike's Market where they throw the fish. It was stinky!

There were tons of beautiful flowers at Pike's Market, and so inexpensive too!

Phil and I at the Mariners game on Saturday. So fun!
Buy me some PEANUTS and CRACKER JACKS!

Our Date

Some of the reasons I started blogging was to not only give updates to family and friends but to give me a way to keep a journal going of our family. So, I'm sorry if some of my unexciting posts bore you like this one might.
That said, Phil and I have never really been good at keeping up the "Date Night" thing after getting married. We've always loved hanging out with friends in groups and we always spend time together so we kind of figured that counted. But we've decided to make an effort to have an official Date Night at least twice a month, just the two of us! With most of our friends being gone this week we thought, what better time to start? So last night Phil and I planned a date. We started by going to the park and playing tennis! We were a pretty good match considering it was the first time we played this year. We even challenged a random couple to doubles and won! Afterwards we went shopping at the D.I. for chairs for our dining table. Our last apartment didn't have room for a table so we haven't used our table until today- 2 years into our marriage! We found some little wooden chairs and bought some stuff to sand and stain them. Turns out they matched our wood table pretty well so we didn't have to do anything but clean them! We finished off our date by sharing a burrito at Bajio (followed by Pepcid AC of course!) The night was so fun and we can't wait to keep "dating" each other in the future!

Joys of Pregnancy

Pregnant = Frequent trips to the bathroom, all day and all night.
So now we have "His and Hers" toilet paper - The cheap kind for me and the softest Charmin rolls for Phil. So now good toilet paper is added to my list of things I can't wait to enjoy once I'm no longer pregnant, along with zipped up pants, sleeping on my stomach, and heartburn free nights.

Too Much Ice Cream!

With the combination of Royce and AubRee's pie and ice cream and a family's Phil helped move out we had a TON of stuff in our freezer that almost wouldn't fit. Our willing friends came over and helped us eat it last night while the game of Texas Hold Em made its debut at our card night. We didn't have any poker chips so we played with Jenga blocks instead! Walter kicked our trash but I have the feeling this game is far from being over!

Movin in the Sun

This weekend we had BEAUTIFUL weather in Rexburg! We decided to celebrate by driving some balls at the golf course and getting Jamba Juices! When Walter and Todd showed up accidentally matching, Phil decided to make it official and wore his blue shirt and shorts as well. What cute twinsies they make.
The rest of the weekend Phil and I spent moving (with the help of our amazing friends!) from our place to Royce and AubRee's old apartment. It has taken forever and we still aren't completely done but the apartment is finally coming together! It won't ever be as cute as the Barney's had it decorated (especially with us keeping most of our stuff still boxed away for an easy re-move in two months) but it feels like home none-the-less!

Crazy Weekend

Wow this has been a cRaZy weekend for Phil and I. Friday morning we flew down to Salt Lake to go to Phil's brother, Tyler's, wedding at the Mt. Timpanogos temple. Courtney will be a fun new addition to the Casper family and we are excited to hang out with the newlyweds when they come back to school! These pics are of Phil and Tyler at the temple, and then later at the reception at Thanksgiving Point. Phil slow danced with his Grandma Casper and then they go their boogey on swing dancing later! Grandma Jo was quite the sport!

Graduates!

Yes, we are finally College Graduates! Phil and I both graduated last Thursday with our BS Degrees in Health Science and Sociology. It was really fun for us to be able to walk together, and even greater that we got to walk with Royce and AubRee!
My parents flew up to Idaho to celebrate with us on the big day. While Mom took me birthday shopping for maternity clothes, my dad outfitted Phil in some new "college graduate" clothes- some shirts, ties, and slacks so Phil can look sharp in the work field. Thank you Mom and Dad! We love you so much!

Bye Bye Barneys

Last week we had to say goodbye to our good friends the Barneys who are leaving to grad school. We decided to have a sleep-over at their house and be spontaneous married people and go to Dennys for a midnight breakfast. We will miss Royce, AubRee, and baby Grace but we are already planning more sleepovers in California :)

Conference Weekend

Lots of food and lots of conference talks all weekend long. During Saturday's Priesthood session, me and some girlfriends got together and traded recipes so we could spice up our usual dinner routines. We got so hungry talking about recipes that we were ticked when our hubby's hunkered down to watch a Final Four game and left us to figure out dinner. So we simply left and got pizza! It was a sad day for me though because I discovered that Pizza Hut pizza really isn't as good as I remembered it. After weeks of arguing with Phil over what pizza was better, Papa Murphys or Pizza Hut, I humbly had to admit that he was right! It just used to be so good when me and my mom would get personal pans together to redeem those reading program points!
Anyways, today after Conference we had a Carnivores Only party with Jacksons and Blackburns. We smoked ham, ribs, salmon, and chicken all day and it was all delicious! Poor Todd and Joy's house was left that night with smells much less yummy than smoked meat! Here are some pics of the weekend, including the intense b-ball game played between sessions.

Hard worker

This is Phil working at a Health Fair for the hospital. He did blood pressure tests and marketed for the hospital all day, while some weirdos at the booths nearby did psychic readings and healing stone massages. Isn't Phil a hottie?

Happy Birthday to Me!

It was a very happy birthday to me this year! My old roomates, Candace and Robyn, threw me a Birthday Party/Baby Shower that was so fun! All of my closest friends were there in their PJs and we ate great food and played games. Thanks to all for making my birthday the best! I forgot to bring my camera (I know, I couldn't believe it either) so the only ones I got were of me and presents! My favorite birthday surprise was from my hubby when he got me a MuMu bathrobe. Thank you hunny I love you!

Our Baby Boy!

Good news! The baby looked very healthy and normal and we found out we're having a boy! I was actually pretty shocked at the news because I guess deep down I had been thinking it was a girl the whole time. Coming from an all girl family this will be so new to me, but I'm so excited to play trucks and jump in puddles with the little guy! Phil is really happy too and feels like he can relax knowing he produced a son :)
During the ultrasound the little guy decided to spook us out by making the "Scream" face... The ultrasound tech thought it was so funny and printed us a picture of it. We concluded that he must have a great sense of humor!
Now we can start deciding on names, which we think will probably be a choice between Brady and Bruin... maybe we'll wait until we see him to decide!
