Toward the end of my days in Cali one of my best friends, AubRee Barney, met up with me for a much needed Girls Night Out where we had a blast at the family fun center Boomers. Yes you heard that right. Two grown women at the family fun center on a Wednesday night. Totally rocked it. We played mini golf, rode the race karts, conquered the climbing wall, and lasered eachother... in a laser tag room that was completely empty but ourselves... we may have peed our pants a little laughing so hard... and she may have beat me 900pts to 200pts, but I had a rockin time dancing in the black lights with my glowing teeth and techno music. True story.
SO glad we've been able to keep in touch with the Barneys over the years. They are in their last rotation for optometry school there in Lemoore and will be settling in Washington where Phil is from. We will join them in a few years I hope!!
Posed, after the climb.. yes I had a harness during the climb :)
We are so cool
Racing AubRee. We had sore necks the next day

We finally made it home Friday after the flight to Salt Lake and three hour drive to Rexburg. I am so glad it wasn't a 16 hour drive.
Phil was happy to have us home but I think he had a major adjustment from bachelorhood to dad of two and husband. Much louder... Since we've been home I've tried to keep it super clean though to help him adjust :) He's kind of a neat freak. Which is good. It balances my messiness.
Bruin is back to preschool and I'm back at the gym, thank heavens. Phil is super super busy right now. He is job shadowing a P.A. in the next town over, going to class, volunteering at the hospital, studying for the GRE and just got a job at an assistant living home. All for the purpose of putting hours on his applications this spring.
Did I mention we've decided to apply for Physician Assistant programs instead of medical school? After many hours of consideration we decided we valued having Phil around and settling down where we want to live, over the future income difference. He can still do what he wants to do in the medical field as a P.A. but with only two more years of school. Plus Bruin won't be 13 years old when dad emerges from school and back into his life :) We feel really good about the decision and are excited for the next step. Applications!! Yikes.
Below are some pics of our California "vacation."
Super Grandma. Helped me clean up barf and entertain these two homebound kids. We made some good healthy (and non-healthy, shh!) meals together too
Poor kid was so sick. We had to keep him in a pack n play for easier cleanup
Out to dessert with my old buddies from the ward. So good to see them!

Whacked Out Post
Ok Sorry about that last post. The format got totally whacked out. I was posting using my phone.
The totally unreadable mass of words has been fixed. Phew! ;)

My Vaca Thru Text
Me and the kiddos Packed up the car and headed down to California to wrap up a legal settlement over the IUD issue I had awhile back. (which by the way, I won, and got totally refunded the $5,000 we paid for surgery....blessings!)
On the way to Salt Lake my mother in law heard I was driving to Cali all alone and offered me some standby buddy passes that were expiring soon so that I could fly from SLC straight to Fresno and save me 26 hours of driving time....more blessings!
I was soon happy and so excited to see all my friends and family we left behind last year when we moved. Who knew what horror awaited me.... ;)
So I gathered some of Phil and I's text messages to give a general synopsis of the last week and a half I've been here...
Phil: what day do u come home?
Me: Friday around 4pm to SLC. I'm in urgent care. Crew sick with 102 fever
Phil: :(
Phil: how's Crew on meds? Better?
Me: still sad, whiny :( eyes all goopy green still. My head feels crappy and weird.
Me: I miss the gym. Did your iCard work to get in there this time?
Phil: nope, just pushed thru
Me: Crew just threw up all over the couch
Phil: Noooo
Me: Just threw up again
Phil: :( sorry.
Phil: add Draw Something App it's fun
Me: ok added. Am I playing u? I'm playing a Pcasper
Phil: No not me
Me: I might need to change my return flight. Crew still throwing up today. Bruin miserable with cold flu and pink eye. Is there a day I need to be back by?
Phil: no. Poor little guys.
Me: ..Poor me! I'm up all night with Bruin and cleaning up throw up and snot all day. Soo done
Phil: poor Holly. Bright side you're with ur mom
Me: your mom got my ticket changed to next Tuesday
Me: Crew on barf #6 today. Don't forget to pick up my library book
Phil: :( Job interview tomorrow morning
Me: I'll send prayers
Me: guess who just puked again. WTH??
Phil: Dangit
Phil: how's he doing now?
Me: Just threw up again after dinner but begging for food and drink.. So sad. I finally gave him some plain white cake we'll see if he can hold it down
Phil: I feel so sad for u guys
Phil: national Geographic channel right now!
Me: ha! Awesome. (Doomsday Preppers show)
Phil: hope tomorrow is better
Me: I have pink eye now :(
Phil: you go to church?
Me: no. Dad and Patrick gave Crew a blessing last night
Phil: good. Maybe u should get a blessing too
Phil: how u feeling?
Me: 101 fever. Headache. Sinus congestion
Phil: :(
Me: bruin just threw up. Been saying his tummy hurt all morning. I could go stay at the resort a day or two before coming up to keep away from u
Phil: what if he pukes on plane? Fly another day
Me: I hate being a burden on anyone. I hate leaving u without a car still! Extend ticket again?
Phil: don't worry about me. Im excited for u to come home but cannot afford to get sick right now if it can be avoided
Me: ok. Talked to your mom again. Coming home Friday. U love us being gone :(
Me: Bruin threw up this morning. Crew woke up soaked in diarrhea. Lots of laundry this week
Phil: wow Hun. I don't know what to say. You have had a terrible experience with this
Me: those United flight vouchers we have are looking real good
So that's how my one week "vacation" has turned into 2! Which would be awesome if I could actually go somewhere and visit people without infecting them with the flu. Pretty sure I'm next. On a better note, I've spent lots of time with my mom, and discovered a wonderful app called Draw Something that I play with all my sisters and hubs when're I get a chance!
The weather has been beautiful here and I actually laid out and got a light sunburn one day, while the kids played in the yard, and yes, Crew puked in the grass. Much less cleanup tho and Bruin had fun spraying it down with the hose (gross!)
Cross my fingers I am not puking by Friday and that Bruin will be better and Crew's diarrhea is gone. Recipe for disaster on an airplane.
