April has been busy and I keep neglecting our blog for more enjoyable uses of my free time :) Like catching up on Once Upon A Time episodes... We had a free week between semesters that we spent in Utah with family and hanging out at the Midway resort. The boys, like always, had a blast with their cousins while Phil and I laid low and enjoyed the break. The last day at the resort I hurt my back at the gym and literally couldn't move. Couldn't even dress myself. With much prayer, medicine, and heating pads I recovered fully in the next few days and felt SO GRATEFUL to be back in the game a week later. It's amazing how you can take your body for granted until something is wrong with it!
Snakes!
When we got back to Idaho it was time to move. The townhome we were in sold so we had to find a new place. Luckily we found a great place and had wonderful friends and family who helped us. We now have a little back yard between the house and garage and a clubhouse with a pool/hottub, theater room, workout center. Love it! The boys spent every moment outside torturing ladybugs the first two days we were here but the weather got nasty again and we're stuck back inside. Hoping for warm sunny days ahead!
In the move we decided to sell all of our nice big furniture including our bunkbeds and five piece king bedroom set. We wanted to downsize to make our future moves these next three years easier.
So what were we left with? Our full size guest bed to sleep on. Yep. It's been...interesting.
During the housing transition I lost my privileges at the BYUI gym which STINKS!! They figured out Phil was a non-traditional student and my iCard stopped working. Luckily our new place has a mini gym, but UNLUCKILY our rental property management are dummies and cannot get anything together so we still don't have our own access key card. So for the last two weeks I have seriously been a lazy beast. I have learned about myself that I am an all or nothing person. I am either an all out crazy calorie counting gym-aholic, or a junk food binging slug on a rug. Being half way inbetween is lame to me. That's why I love this Pinterest Pin I saw the other day
So true right?
Anyways, I found this trifle recipe on Pinterest and made it for my cousin Patrick's birthday. I tried to make JUST ENOUGH so there would be no leftovers :) It was half Reeses Cup trifle/half Heath bar trifle so you could make the choice. So good.
I'm hoping I'm not too far off the workout boat that I can't get back on when our key card gets working... I'm afraid I might be! Bread and desserts are just too amazing.
So some good news around our house... Phil finally got a job at the plasma center here as a certified phlebotomist. He was PERSISTENT to say the least of getting this job. He really needed it to strengthen his P.A. program applications this spring. AND if we don't get accepted this year to a program its good to know he has a solid job to stick with for another year. This does mean though I have to kiss the man goodbye for the next few months. Between school and working two jobs he will be a busy man. But I'm proud of him. And I know it won't last forever. Repeated twice in my head.
Happy May with more to come!
