This weekend we had some fun visitors come and stay with us Saturday night. Phil's sister Brittany came to see Bruin and our friends Walter and Aria stayed the night on their way from St. George to Brentwood. We had quite the full apartment! Aria is 8 months pregnant and so cute! We just chatted the whole time about pregnancy, labor, etc while the guys talked football. Then we watched THE OFFICE, which we DVRd from Thursday. LOVE THAT SHOW! Thanks for coming to see us Brittany, Walter, and Aria!
Phil left with my dad for the bay area today so my mom and I get to have a girls night tonight :) Watching last week's Biggest Loser and eating breakfast, or whatever we want, enjoying not having to cook a dinner tonight! As much as its sad to have our husbands leave, I love spending time with my mom, just us!
For baby news, Bruin is starting to give us little smiles now, its so fun! He was smiley this morning while I was on the phone with my sister and I caught a little on video.

Your video made me smile.. thank you
Too bad, I came back already. We got done a day early so we came home tonight (10pm), feed me.... J/K I forgot you were on the phone while you shot that video of Bruin, I was wondering why you thought you had to tell the camera that Bruin had just smiled... -Phil
to answer your question. First off both my kids have been in the like 80th percentile for weight so they were not little like Bruin. But this is what I did. I would put him to bed whenever he was ready like 8-9 and then whether he woke up or not I would feed him before i went to bed like 11:00 (I stay up late waiting for Chad:)). Is all I would do is pick him up out of his crib feed him in the chair in his room and I didn't talk to him. He would stay asleep the whole time but eat a full feeding then I would put him back in bed. If he woke up at that point I just let him cry and offered his pacifier after about 15 minutes so he would know I was there for him and then leave again. I wouldn't feed him again until atleast 5-6am. So basically I guess I dropped the middle feeding. Then eventually I didn't feed him before I went to bed and only again at 5-6 and he'd sleep for another 2-3 hours. I hope that makes sense. Bruin is still physically small so I would recommend offering him that late night feeding until you think he would be fine without it. So if you think about it feed him at 11 and say he wakes up again at 6 that is only 7 hours he can definitely handle that. At about 6 months Hunter was waking up routinely at 5 am and would eat like less than five minutes and fall to sleep so I quickly stopped that and made him cry through it because he was only waking for comfort now he wakes between 7-8am. Let me know if you have any more questions.
Bruin is so cute! It just keeps getting more fun! Soon he will laugh and it will blow your mind! It did for Josh and I anyways. Hi Phillip!!!
Bruin is so cute! Is it not the best feeling in the whole world when they start smiling at you? I want you guys to come visit Rexburg!
is what I would do when Hunter would wake up I would let him cry 15-20 minutes if he is still crying I would offer the pacifier but only once. I wouldn't keep going in there. He got one shot to keep it and if not then I would just let him cry through it. I too didn't want him to become dependent on it so I only offered it once each time he would wake up. When I first started doing that I had to turn on a fan or something so I didn't hear him crying but I would set an alarm just so I could make sure he was still okay and had fallen asleep. It is hard when you do that because sometimes you can hear them and you are awake anyway but he should get it in a few days. HOpe that helps. It really doesn't hurt them to cry and they won't remember a thing in the morning, thank goodness for that. Let me know how it goes:)
