Chills
For the past few weeks I have been experiencing chills at night that no matter how many blankets, sweatshirts, heating blankets I put on I am still freezing! It seems to occur right after I pump... (I pump bottles instead of nurse most of the time) My sister had the same thing happen to her when she was breastfeeding at night. Does anyone know something about this? I tried googling it but everything I found talks about mastitis and I know its not that. The only thing I can think of is that when I lose the calories from the milk maybe my body has nothing to burn to keep me warm or something? Any thoughts or knowledge would be greatly appreciated! Cuz when you've only got about 2 hours to sleep between feedings you don't want to be sitting there shivering! Thanks!

Yikes! I never had that...darn those crazy hormones! Good Luck and stay warm!
How long have you had them? You might want to see a doctor just to rule out anything. I goggled it to but just chills and it said that they are usually caused by some kind of infection. So I'm not sure I'm always hot at night so....? I wish I could help you that sounds like no fun. Good luck:)
I don't think it's the calorie thing. Because you don't burn your milk as calories, but it does take energy go make the milk. Are you eating enough? I'm sorry, being cold is the worst. Like now.
I would probably talk to your doctor, though.
I really don't know what a bummer of a deal though. It wouldn't hurt to call your dr and just ask incase it is an infection somewhere. Good luck, keep us posted.
I haven't heard of the chills but I have heard of night sweats which has happened to me and then from sweating (which I'm not really even hot) I get cold. Is it something like that? Hope things get better, and you can get some sleep. Good Luck and keep us posted on how you are doing.
Hey Holly & Phil! Your blog is so cute! Bruin is a sweetheart. I just got over a mastitis yesterday, in fact, for the 4th time. Once you have it it's really easy to get again. Yuck! But I used to get night sweats and got kind of cold too. Especially at first. It may be that? I agree about asking your doctor though. Looks like you are having fun in California! :) -Brianne&D&E C.
i read somewhere that your breast can be up to 4 degrees warmer when making and storing lots of milk. Maybe once it is emptied it cools you off? I always get so hot..I wouldn't mind being cold now and then.
